It's a funny thing, but we should look forward to death, not with fear but with understanding. We ask Mary to pray for us "now and at the hour of our death" in each Hail Mary. We ask the Lord for a peaceful death each day during compline. And we are surrounded by death, even if we choose to ignore it.
We'll begin our series by exploring death itself--what it means to die, how (and why!) we can prepare for death, and how we can look to Christ Himself as an example of how to die. Death, Fr. Hugh reminds us, can be an occasion for beauty and incredible grace; it is an ultimate chance to conform our lives with Christ, especially if we are prepared to receive it.
