On this sixth day of our Michaelmas Novena, we pray in a particular way for children, born and unborn.

In the eighteenth chapter of Saint Matthew's Gospel, our Lord says, "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven, their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven."

These words reveal both the dignity of every child and the special care of Divine Providence for the little ones. Today, we entrust all children to the protection of Saint Michael. Let us pray that every child may be received as a gift from God, protected in life, formed in truth and virtue, and led safely toward the eternal vision of the Father.
