A Reflection on Michaelmas, 2025

We are part of a growing movement--one that shows the Church at its best, and one that invties others to share in our joy. Join us!

Our recent celebration of Michaelmas was a magnificent joy. The spectacle of the light, the beautiful chant and music that filled the abbey church, and the palpable grace that we shared with pilgrims from all around the world—truly, this was a foretaste of heaven.

This celebration is emblematic of something much greater. It is a global movement, gaining momentum each and every day. It is a movement that celebrates the beautiful heritage of our Faith, even as we build its future. It is a movement that showcases the Church at its very best, and invites others to share in this joy.

By God's grace, our abbey has a role to play in this movement, but we do not do this work alone. You are part of this, too. By your prayers, you strengthen this work. By the holiness you pursue, you sanctify our work. By the love that you extend to others, you help this movement grow. What an incredible honor God has given us, that we can serve His Church at this historic time.

Finally, we want to thank those who, by their selfless generosity, cooperate in our work in an even deeper way. Our ministry owes so much to the members of the Abbot's Circle's monthly giving team, which not only helps make events like our Michaelmas celebration possible, but also helps to drive the liturgical and sacramental life of our abbey, the ministries and apostolates of our confreres, and the formation of the next generation of holy priests. On behalf of the whole community, thank you.

If you are not yet a member of the Abbot's Circle, please join us. There is much work to be done, and we would be honored to call you a coworker in Our Lord's vineyard.

Above all, let us continue to hold each other in prayer. St. Michael, pray for us!
