As we begin our journey toward the light on the feast of St. Michael, we seek to begin our time of preparation with the knowledge of where we truly stand before God. This humble recognition of our own darkness gives strong impetus to the pilgrimage we are undertaking in this novena, and is a moment for the grace of steadfast conversion.
