In the first days of this novena, we gave thanks for the many graces God has bestowed upon St. Michael’s Abbey, and we commended to His mercy the faithful departed who have gone before us in the sign of faith. Today, we turn with renewed confidence to Our Lady, asking her to obtain for the canons of St. Michael’s Abbey the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit during this sacred time of discernment.

We ask that the Holy Spirit guide the community as they prepare to elect a new abbot, and that the man chosen receive these gifts in abundance as he takes up the fatherly office entrusted to him.

Today, we pray especially for the gift of wisdom.

Wisdom teaches the soul to see all things in the light of God. It orders the mind and heart toward His will, lifts our judgment above merely human considerations, and seeks before all else His glory and the salvation of souls.

Our Lady, Queen of the Norbertine Order and Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.
