Catholic education is the richest tradition of its kind, which makes its present crisis all the more heartbreaking. There are, of course, grim practical measures: lagging enrollment, falling test grades, and closing schools. But beyond these measures (or indeed, at their heart) lies a deeper issue: many of these schools have lost sight of their fundamental meaning—and the meaning of education itself. In this four-part series, Fr. Ambrose and a group of guests dive into the history of modern Catholic Education. Originally launched in 2023 to provide deep theological and spiritual formation for Catholic parish school teachers and catechists, the Evermode Institute is working to bring sound, clear catechesis to schools, parents, grandparents, young adults, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of our faith.
