Chapter Three, Part One
We resume our story as Norbert struggles to follow his newfound resolutions. What was his identity, his mission? Norbert was an aspiring ascetic, but he had not formally renounced his possessions. He spoke as a teacher, but he was still in many ways a young student. He wanted to advance clerical reform, but he was not yet a proper member of any order!
As Norbert works through these contradictions--landing himself in a little trouble along the way--we see Norbert begin to develop a unique, courageous, and sometimes fiery voice and a firm resolve to serve the Lord and His Church.
